Samsung Releases Global Research on Mobile Artificial Intelligence

Samsung has shared the results of a global study conducted in collaboration with Symmetry Research to examine the role of mobile artificial intelligence in users’ daily lives and how usage habits are evolving.

According to a statement from the company, the findings reveal that mobile AI is no longer perceived as a luxury but has become a necessity for users.

With the launch of the Galaxy S24 series in 2024, Samsung’s AI-powered ecosystem has expanded from smartphones to wearables and tablets. Within this ecosystem, artificial intelligence has evolved beyond a simple photo-editing tool into a personalized assistant that supports users in everyday tasks.

The study shows that 47% of participants believe their daily routines would be disrupted without AI-powered features. Among mobile AI functions, voice commands and conversational features stand out, with 45% of users saying they use voice commands as frequently as typing on a keyboard.

Nearly 80% of users reported having tried Galaxy AI features at least once. However, many users are unaware that background functions such as weather forecasting and automatic screen brightness adjustments are powered by artificial intelligence.

The research also highlights rising usage rates driven by new-generation devices. More than 70% of Galaxy S25 users—introduced by Samsung at the beginning of 2025—actively use AI tools.

Integration with Google Gemini has tripled AI usage rates, while the most frequently used feature is “Circle to Search,” which allows users to search for anything on their screen by drawing a circle around it. This feature is used by 54% of users, making it the most popular AI tool identified in the study.
