Turkiye: The amount of collected cow’s milk decreased in 2022

The amount of cow’s milk collected by commercial dairy operators across Turkiye decreased by 3% in 2022 compared to the previous year and became 9 million 751 thousand 791 tons.

Turkish Statistical Institute announced the data on milk and dairy products production for the period of December 2022.

Accordingly, the amount of cow’s milk collected by commercial dairy enterprises, which was 718 thousand 139 tons in the previous month, increased by 10.9% in December to 796 thousand 400 tons.

The amount of cow’s milk collected by commercial dairy enterprises decreased by 0.4% in December compared to the same month of the previous year.

The amount in question decreased by 3% in the January-December period compared to the same period of 2021 and decreased to 9 million 751 thousand 791 tons.

Compared to the same month of the previous year, in December, yoghurt production increased by 9.4%, drinking milk production by 6% and ayran production by 3.5%, butter production decreased by 16.7% and cow cheese production decreased by 0.9%.

Compared to the same period of 2021 in the January-December period of last year, while butter production increased by 12.8%, ayran production by 6.9% and yogurt production by 3.8%, cow cheese production decreased by 4.5% and drinking milk production by 1.7%.

Drinking milk production, which was 123 thousand 123 tons in November, increased by 9% in December and was recorded as 134 thousand 216 tons.
