The seasonally adjusted Consumer Price Index (CPI) in Türkiye rose by 2.33% in February compared to the previous month.
According to the data first released last year by TÜİK, seasonally adjusted CPI had increased by 3.49% in January, 1.9% in December 2024, 2.87% in November 2024, 2.49% in October, and 2.69% in September.
In contrast, the unadjusted CPI data released yesterday showed a lower-than-expected monthly increase of 2.27% in February, driven by price declines in clothing and healthcare. The annual CPI stood at 39.05%.
Why Is Seasonally Adjusted CPI Important?
The Central Bank of the Republic of Türkiye (TCMB) frequently uses seasonally adjusted data in its monetary policy communication. This metric is closely monitored by markets, as it serves as a key indicator during interest rate adjustment periods.
