The sector broke the all-time record by exporting $995 million in March with an increase of 45.4% compared to the same month of the previous year. An important part of this figure was exports to EU member countries. The sector’s exports to these regions last month increased by 58%, reaching $ 479.7 million.

In March, Germany ranked first among the countries with the highest exports of the sector with $117 million, while Italy was the second with $64.5 million and the USA was third with $55.9 million.

“IT WILL BE FORTUNE TO ANNOUNCE NEW RECORDS IN APRIL”

IDDMIB President Tahsin Oztiryaki stated that they continue to contribute to the country’s exports as a sector and that the export figures in the first quarter are extremely important for both the future of the sector and the country.

Oztiryaki noted that they made a quick start to April, “As we see, it will be a fortune to announce new records at the end of the month. Only on April 1-12, our industry showed an increase of 94% compared to the same month of the previous year, with exports of $375 million. These numbers are very promising. Despite the epidemic, we quickly recovered ourselves and took our place among the sectors that have become positive.”

Tahsin Oztiryaki stated that at the general assembly meeting held on weekdays, the proportional dues collected from member companies were reduced from 5 out of 10 thousand to 3 in 10 thousand.
