Shopping malls are ready to allocate space for vaccination

Altas, Chairman of the Board of the Shopping Centers and Investors Association, said, “We are in contact with all provincial health directorates, including metropolitan cities such as Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir and Bursa. We will provide space allocation if requested from us.”

Prof. Dr. Huseyin Altas, Chairman of the Board of the Shopping Centers and Investors Association (AYD), stated that they are in contact with all Provincial Health Directorates, including metropolitan cities such as Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir and Bursa, and said, “We will provide space allocation if requested from us. They said that there is no need in some provinces, but they can request it when there is a density. We are ready to help whenever something is asked of us in this regard.”

Speaking to Anadolu Agency (AA) regarding the one-month period following the “full closure” implemented due to the epidemic, Altas stated that the number of visitors to shopping centers has increased.

Stating that the daily visitor entry to shopping malls, which was 6.5 million per day before the epidemic, decreased to 4.5 million per day, Altas said, “We have also reached 80% in our turnover. It is going even better than our expectations.”

Noting that they anticipate the visits to return to pre-epidemic by the end of this year, Altas said that they expect the cinemas in shopping malls to open as of July 1.

Emphasizing that the people are now bored and rushing to go shopping, Altas said, “After our restaurants opened, the length of stay in our shopping malls started to get longer. Before the epidemic, the duration of stay in shopping malls was 2 hours and 45 minutes, during the epidemic it decreased to 45 minutes, currently visitors stay in shopping malls for 1-2 hours.”

“Many of our shopping centers in Istanbul are ready to allocate space for vaccination”

Huseyin Altas stated that they are in contact with the Provincial Health Directorates to support the fight against the epidemic, and said, “We allocate places for vaccination studies to those who want from the Provincial Health Directorates. We started the implementation of this in Gaziantep. Van too.”

Explaining that vaccination is done by appointment and there is a certain density in the practice in Gaziantep, Altas said, “We are in contact with all Provincial Health Directorates, including metropolitan cities such as Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir and Bursa. If requested from us, we will provide space allocation in all provinces. They said that there is no need in some provinces, but they can request it when there is a density. Many of our shopping malls in Istanbul are ready to allocate space for vaccination if requested. We are ready to help whenever something is asked of us in this regard.”
