Şişecam Reports 162 Billion Lira in Consolidated Net Sales in First Nine Months of 2025

Şişecam achieved consolidated net sales of 162 billion Turkish lira in the first nine months of 2025, according to a company statement announcing its latest financial results.

The company said international sales—which include exports from Türkiye and sales from production operations outside the country—accounted for 60% of total consolidated sales during the period.

Across the same timeframe, Şişecam recorded 22.9 billion lira in total investments and 706 million dollars in exports. The company produced 4.2 million tons of glass, 3.2 million tons of soda ash, and 2.9 million tons of industrial raw materials.

“Production Capacity Continues to Grow”

Şişecam CEO Can Yücel noted that the first nine months of the year were marked by the ongoing effects of global macroeconomic and geopolitical developments on business activities.

Despite the challenging and volatile economic environment, Yücel said Şişecam continued to preserve its market position and focus on sustainable, value-added production aimed at creating value for all stakeholders.

He added that the company’s efficiency programs—launched at the beginning of the year—continued to contribute positively to results during the latest quarter, and would remain a priority for the rest of 2025.

Yücel emphasized that as part of their strategy to protect cash flow and strengthen financial growth, Şişecam continues to take steps to simplify operations and reduce costs, while prioritizing high value-added, revenue-generating areas.

Highlighting that 2025 represents a turning point as major investments near completion, Yücel said:

“This year, when most of our new investments will be finalized, we commissioned our energy glass furnace and processing lines in Tarsus on September 19. With this project, which required a total investment of 200 million euros, Şişecam’s installed frosted-glass production capacity in Türkiye has reached an annual gross capacity of 396,000 tons, while energy glass processing capacity has reached 47 million square meters.”

Yücel noted that the investment, which has already attracted significant domestic demand, will help Türkiye use its energy resources more efficiently and support the country’s green transformation, while also reducing energy glass imports substantially.

He added that the 1,200-tons-per-day Tarsus flat glass furnace, also part of the Tarsus production complex, will be completed on schedule. Together with other regional facilities, the investment will enhance export potential thanks to its strategic location and proximity to logistics networks.

IFC Loan Agreement Worth 550 Million Euros

Yücel stated that the company’s ongoing investment projects are beginning to show returns, allowing Şişecam to reassess its financial debt position under improving market conditions.

He said the company has accelerated efforts to optimize its financing structure, aiming for more favorable terms aligned with the return profile of its investments.

“As a significant step in this transformation, we have signed a loan agreement with the International Finance Corporation (IFC) for a total amount of up to 550 million euros, aimed at financing our investments in Türkiye and meeting our working capital needs.”

Yücel concluded that Şişecam, as a globally active player in all areas of glass production, would continue its activities with a commitment to innovation, quality, and customer trust:

“We will manage geopolitical risks expected to continue into 2026 in the best possible way and maintain our focus on creating maximum value for all stakeholders.”
