ISTANBUL — Smart Güneş Enerjisi Teknolojileri announced that its subsidiary has signed a €14.55 million contract to develop a utility-scale solar power project with energy storage for a domestic corporate customer, strengthening the company’s order backlog in Türkiye’s growing renewable energy market.
According to the company’s disclosure, subsidiary Smart Güneş Enerji Ekipmanları Pazarlama A.Ş. will provide turnkey engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) services for a battery-integrated solar power plant under the agreement, which is valued at €14.55 million, excluding value-added tax (VAT). The contract entered into force on June 29.
As part of the project, Smart Güneş plans to use photovoltaic solar panels manufactured with its own domestically produced solar cells, supporting Türkiye’s efforts to expand local manufacturing in the renewable energy sector. The company said the project will cover the full engineering, procurement and installation process on a turnkey basis.
The identity of the customer was not disclosed. Smart Güneş said the new contract is expected to make a positive contribution to its revenue and profitability as demand for integrated solar and energy storage projects continues to grow in Türkiye.
