SOCAR Fiber and EXA Infrastructure Sign Strategic Partnership to Strengthen Turkey’s Digital Infrastructure

SOCAR Fiber, a subsidiary of SOCAR Turkey, announced a strategic collaboration with EXA Infrastructure, marking a significant step in enhancing Turkey’s digital infrastructure on a global scale. This partnership aims to expand SOCAR Fiber’s network reach through EXA Infrastructure’s extensive global access networks, while strengthening regional communication infrastructure.

As SOCAR Fiber’s first external commercial client, EXA Infrastructure will deliver connectivity services via SOCAR Fiber’s network along the Turkey-Greece and Turkey-Georgia borders. This initiative is expected to accelerate digital communication between Asia, the Middle East, and Europe, contributing significantly to regional data transport.

Enabling Global Connectivity
Under the agreement, SOCAR Fiber’s network infrastructure will be marketed by EXA Infrastructure to global data center operators, cloud providers, content distributors, and technology organizations. This collaboration is set to enhance SOCAR Fiber’s contributions not just locally but also globally, reinforcing Turkey’s role as a strategic digital corridor.

SOCAR Fiber CEO Kanan Mammadov commented, “By partnering with EXA Infrastructure, one of the leading digital infrastructure operators in Europe and North America, we aim to support Turkey’s digital transformation and position it as a key regional data transit route. This new communication infrastructure in the region will establish shorter terrestrial routes between Europe, the Middle East, and Asia, further solidifying Turkey’s role in global digital networks.”

Steve Roberts, Senior Vice President of Strategic Investments and Product Management at EXA Infrastructure, added, “We are proud to be part of this project. It will create new, scalable, and reliable routes within Turkey and provide new intercontinental traffic pathways from Asia. The first phase will link the Georgian border, gathering traffic from the South Caucasus and Central Asia. The second phase will connect the Iraqi border, bypassing the traditional Red Sea route for Middle Eastern traffic. Alongside our previous investments in the Trans Adriatic Express and the Balkans, this project will deliver the most modern and reliable fiber-optic infrastructure connecting Asia and Europe.”

SOCAR Fiber: A Secure and High-Speed Communication Network
Since 2013, SOCAR Fiber has been providing secure communication services via its 1,850 km-long fiber-optic infrastructure along the TANAP Natural Gas Pipeline route. Stretching from eastern to western Turkey, the fiber network passes through 20 provinces and 67 districts, aligning with both local and global digitalization goals.

With this new agreement, SOCAR Fiber is set to further enhance its position as a key player in communication infrastructure services, contributing to regional and global connectivity.
