The solar power plant in Antalya provides free electricity to farmers. With the power plant affiliated to Antalya Metropolitan Municipality, more than 10 thousand farmers are supported.
In the statement made by Antalya Metropolitan Municipality Agricultural Services Department, the solar power plant installed on an area of 90 thousand square meters in Dosemealti Dagbeli Neighborhood generates electricity for farmers.
It contributes to approximately 46 irrigation cooperatives and more than 10 thousand farmers in the 5 megawatt power plant.
The amount of support provided corresponds to 70% of the expenses according to the capacities of the cooperatives. The solar power plant has been in operation for about 4 years.
In the coming period, the city plans to establish a power plant primarily in Demre and Elmali districts.
