Turkiye’s real effective exchange rate index increased by 1.66 points in January

The real effective exchange rate index increased by 1.66 points on a CPI basis to 56.95 in January 2024.

According to provisional data published by the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkiye (CBRT), the real effective exchange rate index based on 2003=100, on a CPI basis, increased by 1.66 points to 56.95 last month compared to the previous month. The index was at 55.29 in December 2023.

During this period, the real effective exchange rate index on a D-PPI basis increased by 0.6 points from 85.93 to 86.53.

The value of the Turkish lira decreased by 0.19 points on a CPI basis and 5.89 points on a D-PPI basis in January compared to the same month of 2023.
