Stocks Lead Gains as Investment Instruments Rise This Week

Investment instruments in Türkiye posted gains this week, with equities emerging as the strongest-performing asset class, according to market data released at the close of trading.

Borsa Istanbul shares recorded the highest returns among major investment tools, while gold, foreign currencies, and investment funds also ended the week higher. Analysts said improving market sentiment and increased investor appetite for equities supported the rally in Turkish stocks.

The BIST 100 index finished the week with notable gains after fluctuating between its weekly low and high levels. Market observers noted that banking and industrial shares were among the main contributors to the upward momentum in the stock market.

Gold prices also continued their upward trend. The price of quarter gold rose more than 3% during the week, while gram gold and Cumhuriyet gold posted additional gains in local markets. Meanwhile, the US dollar and euro strengthened against the Turkish lira, reflecting continued volatility in currency markets.

Investment and pension funds likewise delivered positive weekly returns. Among investment funds, equity-based funds generated the highest profits, outperforming other fund categories with gains exceeding 4%.

Economists say investor demand for equities remains strong amid inflation concerns and expectations of continued market activity. However, analysts also warned that global economic uncertainty and exchange-rate fluctuations may continue to influence investment performance in the coming weeks.
