Support from the EU for Vestel’s artificial intelligence project

Vestel is entitled to receive a new fund with 3 projects from “Horizon 2020”. Horizon 2020 is one of the largest research and innovation programs of the European Union conducted on an international scale.

According to Vestel’s statement, the company received funds with the KYKLOS 4.0 project, which covers smart and flexible production activities for personalized consumer needs in 2019. It was supported with three more projects in 2020. DAIS (Distributed Artificial Intelligence Systems) was one of these three projects. Vestel will develop distributed artificial intelligence systems with 49 project partners from 11 countries, and develop solutions to increase user experience and data security.

“We are proud that the projects we produce are supported by worldwide accepted programs”

Vestel Senior Manager (CEO) Turan Erdogan, whose views were given in the statement, stated that Vestel has R&D experience and innovation culture based on many years and said:

“Vestel derives its production power from the studies it carries out in R&D centers in different regions of the world and its R&D team of 1,700 people. Industry 4.0, artificial intelligence, mobility, and connectivity are at the center of our R&D vision. We are proud that the projects we produce in this context are supported by programs that are accepted worldwide.

We received our first Horizon 2020 support in September 2019 with our smart and flexible production project. At the end of 2020, we were included in the scope of support with two more projects involving battery technologies and electric vehicle charging station studies. In addition, we have demonstrated our R&D power once again by incorporating an ECSEL (Electronic Components and Systems for European Leadership) project for the first time.”
