Turkish stocks, exchange rates & brent crude oil updates at midweek

Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index rises 2.10 points from previous close

Turkey’s benchmark stock index opened at 1,113.34 points on Wednesday, increasing 0.19% or 2.10 points from the previous close.

At Tuesday’s close, Borsa Istanbul’s BIST 100 index was up 0.36% at 1,111.24 points, with a daily trading volume of 16.58 billion Turkish liras ($2.2 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate rose to 7.4940 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT), compared to 7.4860 at the previous close.

The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate stood at 8.8790, up from 8.8700, while one British pound traded for 9.6830 Turkish liras,down from 9.7010.

One barrel of Brent crude oil sold for around $41.30 as of 10.00 a.m. local time (0700GMT).
