Company officials who came to Turkiye from different countries for the 16th International Defense Industry Fair (IDEF’23) expressed their satisfaction with the event.
Approximately 1000 domestic and foreign companies operating directly or indirectly in the fields of defense, security, maritime, aviation and space industry participate in the fair.
The participants, who came to Istanbul for IDEF’23 from different countries, made evaluations about the fair to AA correspondent.
Joining from Indonesia, Pt. Aprinovita Nurfirdaus, the senior manager of Langit Biru Parasut, stated that the fair went well for them and said, “I came across some interesting products in Turkiye and got information about them at the fair.”
Nurfirdaus stated that they held talks with other companies at the fair and carried out activities to create a joint venture.
Explaining that Indonesia has a developed industry, Nurfirdaus said that Turkiye and Indonesia can further develop the ongoing cooperation in the defense industry.
“An opportunity to offer our services to international companies”
Hamad al-Tair, Deputy General Manager of Yahsat company, which operates in the field of satellite and communications, emphasized that IDEF is one of the 4 largest exhibitions worldwide, “Our participation is of strategic importance. Here we are introducing new generation satellites.”
Tair stated that thanks to the fair, they had the opportunity to present their products to Turkish and international companies.
The number of Chinese companies attracted attention
Chinese companies showed great interest in IDEF’23.
More than 70 companies from China, operating in different fields from military textile products to air defense systems, participated in the fair.
Candice Chen, manager of Hangzhou Oxman Sourcing, one of them, said, “This fair offers a great opportunity for export-oriented companies like us. We have the opportunity to exhibit our products. Turkiye is in a very important position. This gives us advantages by bringing people from many parts of the world to come here.”
Jack Yu, the owner of Armor China, also stated that the fair was productive for them and said:
“We had a lot of customers who came to our booth to write and discuss about my company and my products. After this fair, we will return to China, contact and keep in touch with them.”
