Marmarabirlik announced its product purchase prices

Marmara Olive Agricultural Sales Cooperatives Association announced the product purchase prices for the 2023-2024 business year campaign.

According to the statement made by the union, in line with the decision taken by the Marmarabirlik Board of Directors, the ceiling price per kilogram was determined as ₺110 in “180 grains”, ₺105 for “190 grains”, ₺100 for “200 grains”, the base price is ₺47 for “380 grains”, and the price per kilogram of oil olives is ₺45.

Marmarabirlik Chairman of the Board of Directors Hidamet Asa, whose views were included in the statement, stated that product purchase prices were determined by taking into account market conditions, annual inflation rate, production cost of 1 kilogram of olives and supply-demand balance.

Stating that they work with an understanding that protects and protects the olive producers and ensures continuity in production, Asa said, “Product purchases increased by 150% last year and 142% this year, and Marmarabirlik took care of its producers. Now it is the producer’s turn to take care of the cooperative.”

Asa stated that they will not impose quotas during this campaign period, as was the case last year.

Emphasizing that partners can give products to their cooperatives as much as the yield declaration, Asa said, “As the Marmarabirlik Board of Directors, we are already thinking about next year. We predict that the yield will be very high in the 2024-2025 product purchasing campaign. We have to make a good product purchasing plan and sell more products to avoid excess supply next year.”

Marmarabirlik, which has a purchasing budget of ₺2 billion 500 million, including oil, in the 2023-2024 business year product purchasing campaign, will pay the product prices in 15-day periods, 50% of which will be paid in cash. The remaining payments will be determined after the product purchase campaign and announced to partners.

Product purchases have started as of today, under the authority and responsibility of the cooperative board of directors.
