TIM: The highest exports in September were from the chemicals sector

The chemical substances and products sector was the sector with the highest exports last month, with exports of $2 billion 846 million.

According to the data of the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TIM), the chemical substances and products sector, which achieved exports of $2 billion 846 million last month, was followed by the automotive industry with $2 billion 822 million and ready-made clothing and apparel with $1 billion 673 million.

The highest export increase in September was in the defense and aerospace industry with 158.9%.

Exports of $15 billion 744 million were made in the industrial group, which realized 81.5% of Turkiye’s total exports last month, with a decrease of 3%.

In the said period, in the agricultural group, which constitutes 16% of total exports, exports increased by 3.7% to $3 billion 91 million, and in the mining group, which had a 2.5% share of total exports, exports decreased by 9.5% to $487 million 13 thousand.

Most exports to Germany

The countries that exported the most in September were Germany with $1 billion 538 million, Italy with $1 billion 8 million, and the United Kingdom with $989 million 773 thousand.

While 31 provinces increased their exports last month, the top 3 exporting provinces were Istanbul with $8 billion 431 million, Kocaeli with $1 billion 752 million, and Bursa with $1 billion 254 million.

In September, 1484 companies exported for the first time. The average unit export value was $1.42.

While the increase in euro/dollar parity has had a positive impact on exports since April, the parity difference contributed $700 million to exports last month. The 6-month contribution approached $3 billion.
