According to the balance sheets of companies in Turkiye, their total asset size was calculated as ₺26 trillion 351 billion 610 million last year.
Turkish Statistical Institute announced the sector balance sheets for 2022.
Accordingly, in terms of the number of companies, the wholesale and retail trade, repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles sectors ranked first with 318 thousand 556 companies. The share of the manufacturing sector in the total number of enterprises was calculated as 16.5% last year.
According to the consolidated balance sheet, the asset size of the companies in 2022 was determined as ₺26 trillion 351 billion 610 million, the total of short and long-term foreign resources was determined as ₺18 trillion 800 billion 514 million, and the total of equity capital was determined as ₺7 trillion 551 billion 95 million.
The manufacturing sector ranked first among all sectors with an asset size of ₺8 trillion 109 billion 620 million, and the wholesale and retail trade motor vehicle and motorcycle repair sector ranked second with ₺5 trillion 976 billion 106 million.
In terms of own resources, the manufacturing sector ranked first with ₺2 trillion 945 billion 288 million, followed by wholesale and retail trade with ₺1 trillion 589 billion 75 million. The repair sector of motor vehicles and motorcycles was followed by the electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning production and distribution sector with ₺581 billion 164 million.
Highest net profit in manufacturing sector
According to the aggregated income statement data of the companies, the aggregated period net profit of all sectors in 2022 was ₺1 trillion 511 billion 478 million. The manufacturing sector was the sector with the highest net profit with ₺776 billion 333 million.
The wholesale and retail trade, repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles sector made a net profit of ₺350 billion 439 million, and the mining and quarrying sector made a net profit of ₺120 billion 731 million. The real estate activities sector completed 2022 with a net loss of ₺20 billion 908 million and the education sector with a net loss of ₺1 billion 438 million.
The highest foreign sales were in the manufacturing sector with ₺2 trillion 788 billion 978 million. Foreign sales in the wholesale and retail trade, repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles sectors amounted to ₺2 trillion 448 billion 62 million.
The total net sales of all companies included in the sector balance sheets were recorded as ₺31 trillion 466 billion 768 million, and the total operating profit was recorded as ₺2 trillion 370 billion 48 million.
