Tax Debt Restructuring Deadline Extended for Earthquake-Affected Regions in Türkiye

The “General Communiqué on Law No. 7440 Regarding the Restructuring of Certain Receivables”, prepared by the Revenue Administration of the Ministry of Treasury and Finance, has been published in the Official Gazette and has officially come into effect.

The force majeure status for taxpayers affected by the Kahramanmaraş-centered earthquakes in Adıyaman, Hatay, Kahramanmaraş, and Malatya, as well as in İslahiye and Nurdağı districts of Gaziantep, had been extended until May 31.

With the new communiqué, the application and installment payment deadlines for benefiting from the “Law on Restructuring Certain Receivables and Amending Certain Laws” have been adjusted based on the end date of the force majeure status.

New Deadlines for Taxpayers in Affected Regions

For taxpayers whose force majeure status will end on May 31, applications to the relevant tax offices in these areas must be submitted by September 1, instead of August 31, since it falls on a public holiday.

Additionally, the first installment, including lump-sum payments, must be made by September 30. The second installment is due by October 31, while subsequent installments must be paid in the following months.

All creditor administrations, including special provincial administrations, municipalities, and investment monitoring and coordination directorates, will accept applications and payments within these extended deadlines in the four provinces and two districts covered by the law.
