Temsa made the first export of MD9 electriCITY, its electric city bus, to Sweden

According to the statement made by Temsa, 6 MD9 electriCITY electric buses developed by the company’s engineers and manufactured in the company’s Adana facilities set off for Sweden. The vehicles in question are expected to reach the Öckerö area near Gothenburg in the coming days and hit traffic in a short time.

These vehicles, which are sold to Connect Bus, one of the most distinguished local operators in the region with a fleet of 1000 vehicles in total, will be used in public transportation activities of Öckerö Municipality. Sabanci Holding Industry Group President and TEMSA Board Chairman Cevdet Alemdar stated that a new process has started in the company with the share transfer completed recently:

“With the partnership of Sabanci Holding and PPF Group, we are entering a period in which Temsa will gain a much stronger structure especially in global markets. We see this export move as the first step of the new success story to be written by Temsa, which has been serving the Turkish industry for more than 50 years. Seeing Temsa brand electric vehicles, a product of Turkish engineering, on the roads in Sweden is a source of great pride and happiness for us.

This export is a very important step, a turning point not only for Temsa, but also for our country’s economy and Turkish industry. As we all know, Sweden is one of the countries that are most active in reducing carbon emissions in the world and has the most knowledge about electric vehicles. It is very meaningful for us that TEMSA exports its first electric vehicle to Sweden.

‘’The future of public transportation in the world is shaped by the focus of electric vehicles.’’

Tolga Kaan Dogancioglu, CEO of Temsa stated that they are one of the rare manufacturers in the world that can offer more than one model alternative to their customers in this field with the MD9 electriCITY, Avenue Electron and Avenue EV model electric vehicles they have prepared for mass production. Dogancioglu said:

‘’ The future of public transportation in the world is shaped by the focus of electric vehicles. We continue our efforts to be among the playmaking companies in this future. Now, with the strength and excitement of our new organizational structure, we are entering a period in which we will achieve even greater success in foreign markets. We have taken the first step of this period with our 6 MD9 electriCITY exports to Sweden. ‘’

Dogancioglu stated that Connect Bus Board members and officials had come to Adana in recent periods and received detailed information about the vehicles and that they will increase their export volume to a much higher level in the coming days. Dogancioglu said:

‘’ However, other operators in the region also have demands for our electric vehicles. We continue our negotiations with them as well. With our vehicles coming to the traffic in the region, they will find the opportunity to get to know these vehicles more closely.’’
