Just a week and a half after acquiring 172-year-old Finnish agricultural machinery manufacturer Sampo Rosenlew from India’s Mahindra & Mahindra, Tera Holding has now turned its focus to the Asia-Pacific region for its second banking venture.
The Turkish conglomerate confirmed that it has initiated preliminary negotiations to acquire a bank in the Asia-Pacific but did not disclose the specific country where the institution is based. The holding company stated that talks are ongoing and being conducted in accordance with local regulations and approval processes.
Operating across sectors such as finance, technology, agriculture, food, and livestock, Tera Holding already owns Tera Bank and is now seeking to expand its presence in the financial services sector. The company announced the development through a disclosure filed with Türkiye’s Public Disclosure Platform (KAP).
In its official statement, Tera Holding said:
“In line with our growth strategy and goal of diversifying international operations, our company has initiated preliminary discussions to acquire a bank operating under participation finance principles in the Asia-Pacific region. The process will be carried out in consideration of the regulatory framework and approval procedures of the respective country. Necessary due diligence, valuation studies, and negotiations are ongoing.”
The statement added that the company will provide updates to the public and investors in accordance with regulations once a final decision is made.
Tera Holding emphasized that it remains committed to sustainable growth and will continue to explore new investment opportunities while expanding its international operations.
