Tera Investment Technology Holding Emerges as a Key Player in Türkiye’s New Deposit-Return Economy

ISTANBUL, Türkiye — As Türkiye prepares to launch its nationwide deposit-return system on July 1, attention is increasingly shifting from the beverage containers themselves to the companies expected to operate the system’s vast collection and logistics network. Among the emerging players is Revomat, a company within the ecosystem of Tera Investment Technology Holding, which is positioning itself to become a major operator in the country’s new recycling economy.

Under the new system, consumers will receive 1 Turkish lira for every eligible plastic bottle, glass bottle, or aluminum can returned through the deposit scheme. The government aims to bring approximately 25 billion beverage packages into the recycling system annually, generating an estimated 30 billion lira in economic value each year.

While the public-facing aspect of the program focuses on container returns, industry observers say the real opportunity lies in the infrastructure behind the system. Operators will be responsible for collection, logistics, counting, data management, and coordination across supermarkets, convenience stores, restaurants, hotels, and cafés participating in the scheme.

Revomat Targets Major Market Share

Revomat has drawn particular attention because of its connection to Tera Investment Technology Holding, a group whose activities span finance, technology, digital platforms, and strategic investments. According to references in the holding company’s reports, Revomat is targeting the handling of between 5 billion and 8 billion containers annually. Given the national target of 25 billion containers, this would represent a substantial share of the market.

Industry sources note that the deposit-return ecosystem extends well beyond traditional recycling businesses. The system is expected to generate opportunities in logistics, digital infrastructure, mobile applications, operational management, and large-scale data processing. This broader technological component is one reason investment and technology groups have shown growing interest in the sector.

Diverse Operators Enter the Market

The initial list of operators includes not only recycling firms but also logistics providers, beverage manufacturers, environmental companies, and technology-focused businesses. Companies mentioned in connection with the emerging ecosystem include Revomat, logistics-focused operators, beverage producers, and publicly listed environmental firms.

A New Circular-Economy Industry

The launch of the deposit-return system marks one of Türkiye’s largest recycling infrastructure initiatives to date. Analysts believe the program could create an entirely new economic ecosystem centered on resource recovery, digital tracking, and sustainable logistics. As implementation begins in July, attention is expected to focus on how operators such as Revomat establish their business models, expand regional operations, and compete for market share in what could become one of the country’s fastest-growing environmental services sectors.
