The banking sector loan volume was ₺7 trillion 568.3 billion last week

The loan volume of the banking sector increased by ₺73 billion 639 million last week and reached ₺7 trillion 568 billion 340 million.

According to the weekly bulletin published by the Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency (BDDK), the loan volume of the sector increased by ₺73 billion 639 million as of 30 December. In the said period, the total loan volume increased from ₺7 trillion 494 billion 701 million to ₺7 trillion 568 billion 340 million.

Total deposits in the banking sector (including interbank) increased by ₺78 billion 554 million liras last week. The total deposits of the banking sector, which increased by 0.9% in the aforementioned week, became ₺8 trillion 865 billion 711 million.

The amount of consumer loans increased to ₺1 trillion 83 billion 436 million.

According to the data, the amount of consumer loans increased by ₺16 billion 794 million as of 30 December and rose to ₺1 trillion 83 billion 436 million. ₺360 billion 179 million of the said loans consisted of housing loans, ₺49 billion 642 million TL vehicle loans and ₺673 billion 614 million consumer loans.

In the said period, the amount of commercial installment loans increased by ₺6 billion 670 million and reached ₺974 billion 723 million. Banks’ personal credit card receivables increased by 5.8% to ₺446 billion 602 million. ₺217 billion 709 million of personal credit card receivables were in installments and ₺228 billion 893 million were without installments.

Legal equity increased

According to the BRSA weekly data, NPLs in the banking sector increased by ₺2 billion 559 million compared to the previous week and reached ₺161 billion 666 million as of December 30. A special provision has been set aside for ₺136 billion 17 million of the aforementioned non-performing loans.

In the same period, legal equities of the banking system increased by ₺3 billion 771 million and reached ₺1 trillion 655 billion 16 million.
