The first domestic electric train in Turkey has reached the final stage

Turkey’s first domestic electric train has started its final tests. Within the scope of the national electric train set production made by Turkish engineers, the domestic train, which can reach a speed of 160 kilometers per hour, was tested for 4 thousand km. On the other hand, it is expected that nearly 100 of the domestic trains will be produced and will be on the rails by the end of the year.

Within the scope of the production of the national electric train set, the assembly of the prototype suitable for a speed of 160 kilometers per hour was completed and its tests began. It is aimed to realize the National High Speed Train Project, which can reach a speed of 225 kilometers per hour, by using the infrastructure and competence developed within the scope of the National Electric Train Set Project, and by providing the necessary design changes for the use of the said train sets on high-speed train lines.

HERE ARE THE OUTSTANDING FEATURES OF THE DOMESTIC ELECTRIC TRAIN

Following the completion of the certification processes at the end of 2021, it will start passenger transportation and by the end of the year, citizens will be able to travel with national electric sets.

Within the scope of the protocol signed with TCDD Transportation Inc., 4 sets will be delivered in 2022, 15 sets in 2023, and a total of 56 sets until 2025.

COMFORT AND SAFETY ARE AT THE FOREIGHT

Domestic and national trains, vehicles produced with 100% domestic and national resources are made of aluminum extrusion profiles designed to withstand the loads that may occur during operation, impacts and collisions in case of any accident.

“SPEED 176 KM PER HOUR”

Ergonomic passenger seats were used in the sets of the train, which can reach a speed of 176 km per hour. The total seat capacity of each set consisting of 5 vehicles is 324, two of which are reserved for disabled passengers.

GREAT SUCCESS HAS BEEN ACHIEVED IN THE PROJECT

The National Electric Train Sets, designed according to international standards, successfully completed the factory tests last year and started road tests and achieved great success in the project by completing the tests without any problems.

While 65% locality was achieved in prototype production, 75% domesticity was targeted in mass production.
