Innovative Startup Aims to Address Global Food Challenges with Upgraded Plant-Based Products
The Good Wild, a forward-thinking company focused on producing improved, planet-friendly, and resource-conserving plant-based foods, has received a significant investment from impact investment fund Founder One. This funding will support The Good Wild’s mission to advance their “Upgraded Food” category and expand their reach in the global market.
With a commitment to sustainability, The Good Wild produces unique plant-based products, including a pioneering range of sprouted and fermented legumes. These innovations are set to redefine the concept of wild, naturally-grown foods with minimal human intervention, while providing enhanced plant protein solutions.
The Good Wild is part of the Turkiye Food Innovation Platform (TÜGİP) and continues its R&D efforts with support from TUBITAK. According to TUGIP research, sprouted and fermented legumes offer 133% more phenolic compounds and 304% more antioxidants. This process improves nutrient absorption and digestion by reducing phytic acid and lectins, thereby increasing protein absorption and enzyme activity.
Founded by nutritionist Dilara Kocak and food engineer Huseyin Sirin, The Good Wild introduced its products to consumers in June 2023. Their product lineup includes sprouted and fermented legumes, soups, snacks, granolas, and flours, all gluten-free and free from added sugars, synthetic additives, preservatives, and colorants.
