The most Peugeots were sold in Turkiye after France and Italy

Peugeot continues its strong growth move with its performance since the beginning of the year. Playing at the top with its ambitious models, Peugeot Turkiye drew attention with its sales in May.

Gulin Reyhanoglu, General Manager of Peugeot Turkiye, said, “With the sales figure we realized in May, we managed to become the country with the highest number of Peugeot sales in the world, after France and Italy. We have models that play to the top in every segment.”

According to the Peugeot statement, the company continues its strong growth move with its performance since the beginning of the year. Playing at the top with its ambitious models, Peugeot Turkiye drew attention with its sales in May.

Reaching the highest monthly sales in its history with 9,954 sales in May, Peugeot Turkiye reached a market share of 8.9%. The performance of the brand, which reached a record level in May after March, was also reflected in the data for the first 5 months.

In the period covering January-May of the year, Peugeot Turkiye reached a market share of 7.7% with the sales of 34 thousand 457 units and took its place in the 4th place in the total market. Maintaining its position in the 4th place in the passenger vehicle segment with a sales of 25 thousand 81 units and a market share of 7.4% in the first 5 months of the year, Peugeot Turkiye continues its growth in commercial vehicles.

Having sold 9,376 light commercial vehicles in the January-May period, Peugeot Turkiye continued to be on the podium in the commercial vehicle market with a share of 8.9%.

The brand’s model that changed the balance in the light commercial vehicle market, the Rifter, became the new leader of its segment with a sales figure of 1,735 units in May and 5,428 units in the first 5 months. The brand’s new player in the C-HB market, the 308, became the second best-selling model in its segment in May, and increased its share to 17% in the first 5 months, winking at the top.

‘Our leadership in the Turkish SUV market continues’

Gulin Reyhanoglu, General Manager of Peugeot Turkiye, whose views are included in the statement, stated that the sales figures that have been increasing since the beginning of the year are not a surprising result for them, and said, “The interest in our new and innovative models continues to increase. With the sales of 34 thousand 457 units in the first 5 months, we left behind the sales of 32 thousand 666 units in 2022. We saw the great interest in our brand and we increased our sales target of 57 thousand units at the beginning of the year.”

Pointing out that this performance also affected Turkiye’s position in the world of Peugeot, Reyhanoglu said, “With the sales figure we realized in May, we managed to become the country with the highest number of Peugeot sales in the world, after France and Italy. We have models that play to the top in every segment.’

Referring to the successful results of the Peugeot SUV family, Reyhanoglu said:

“Our leadership in the Turkish SUV market continues with our sales of 19 thousand 518 units and a share of 12.5% in the first 5 months with our SUV models of 4 different designs and capabilities, namely 2008, 3008, 5008 and 408. In May, we were at the top with the sales of 5,250 SUVs. Our C-SUV model 3008 ranked third in its segment with a 9.1% market share until the end of May. Our B-SUV model was positioned in the second place in May 2008 and in the first place in the 5-month total. The Turkish market also continues to grow. If the situation in the market continues like this, over 1 million can be seen this year. However, we are a little more optimistic but cautious and predict that the market will close at the level of 920-950 thousand units.”
