Attracting tourists from all over the world with its sun, beaches as well as its historical and natural beauties, Antalya hosted more than 11 million foreign tourists in 9 months.
Antalya is experiencing its busiest period in tourism after COVID-19. Tourism activity in the city, which is the center of attention of tourists with its sea, sand, sun, historical, cultural structures, ancient cities and natural beauties, makes the sector stakeholders smile.
According to the data of Antalya Governorship Provincial Culture and Tourism Directorate, the number of foreign tourists visiting the city by air between January 1 and September 30 was 11 million 27 thousand 94. Compared to last year, there was an increase of 57% in the same period.
Russian tourists took first place
The city, which was visited by 1 million 732 thousand 304 tourists in September last year, received 1 million 989 thousand 154 people in the same period this year. There was a 15% increase in September figures compared to last year.
According to the country of tourists visiting Antalya, the Russians took the first place. In 9 months, 2 million 339 thousand 536 tourists came from the city of Russia.
Russia was followed by Germany with 2 million 195 thousand 860 tourists and England with 952 thousand 246 tourists. Poland, Netherlands, Kazakhstan, Romania, Israel, Czechia and Denmark were in the top 10.
