JUNE 2022 RENT INCREASE RATE IS 39.33%

After the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) announced the inflation figures for May, the rent increase rate for June 2022 was also announced. The rent increase rate, which was determined based on the twelve-month average of inflation (CPI) figures, was 39.33% for June.

After the net inflation rate for May, the June 2022 rent increase rate is calculated as follows:

According to the figures announced, the rent increase to be paid by a tenant whose rent is ₺1000 in June 2022 is calculated as ₺393.3. Accordingly, the increased rent amount will be ₺1,393.3.

RENT INCREASE RATE CAN BE A FIXED RATE

On the other hand, according to the statements of Minister of Justice Bekir Bozdag; A new regulation is expected on the rent increase rate, which concerns millions of landlords and tenants. The government is reportedly working on setting a flat rate for the exorbitant rent increase. According to this; The rent increase rate will not exceed the ‘fixed rate’ and it has been brought to the agenda that it should only be applied for a certain period.

MAY INFLATION NUMBERS ANNOUNCED

The Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) made the announcement for the inflation rate for May. Accordingly, inflation came in at 73.50% on an annual basis and 2.98% on a monthly basis, below expectations.
