Turkiye: The best-selling automotive brands in the first half were revealed

In January-June 2023, Fiat, Renault and Ford brands took place in the top 3 in Turkish automobile and light commercial vehicle sales.

In the Turkish automobile and light commercial vehicle market, the brands with the highest sales in the first half of this year were Fiat, Renault and Ford, respectively.

According to the Automotive Distributors and Mobility Association (ODMD) data, total sales of automobiles and light commercial vehicles in Turkiye increased by 55.3% in the January-June 2023 period, reaching 555 thousand 867 units. This figure was recorded as the highest number of sales of all time.

In the said period, automobile sales increased by 54.5% to 429 thousand 870 units, while light commercial vehicle sales increased by 58.2% to 125 thousand 997 units.

Automotive sales increased by 53.8%, automobile sales by 57.2% and light commercial sales by 40.8% compared to the 10-year average sales in June.

Top 5 in the total market

According to the information compiled by the AA correspondent from the ODMD report, Fiat took the first place in the first half of the year, with 101 thousand 167 units in passenger and light commercial sales. Fiat was followed by Renault with 58,705 units and Ford with 50,803 sales.

Peugeot was fourth with 40,892 sales and Volkswagen was fifth with 39,718 sales.

Automobile sales

Fiat was the brand that sold the most automobiles in the January-June period with 70 thousand 160.

Fiat was followed by Renault with 51,905 sales and Opel with 31,999 sales.

Volkswagen is in fourth place with 31,321 sales, while Peugeot is in fifth place with 30,726 automobile sales.

Luxury car sales

With the inclusion of Togg and Leapmotor in the ODMD brand list, the number of brands increased to 48. In the first half, sales were made from all brands except Smart.

Togg’s sales were recorded as 306 units, with the note “June sales will be announced later”.

625 Porsche, 307 Maserati, 259 Lexus, 68 Jaguar, 16 Bentley, 14 Aston Martin, 12 Ferrari and 8 Lamborghini were sold in the luxury car group in the first half of the year.

Top 5 of light commercial

Looking at the light commercial vehicle segment, Ford was at the top of the list with 36,928 sales in the said period. Ford was followed by Fiat with 31 thousand 7 sales and Peugeot with 10 thousand 166 sales.

Citroen was fourth with 10,071 sales and Volkswagen was fifth with 8,397 sales.
