BIST 100 index in Borsa Istanbul closed the day at 2,375.00 points with a 0.25% decline.
While the BIST 100 index decreased by 5.89 points compared to the previous close, the total transaction volume stood at ₺32.5 billion.
While the banking index declined by 0.68%, the holding index gained 0.66%. Among the sector indices, mining was the highest earner with 1.67% and communication was the lowest with 1.83%.
Analysts said that concerns about inflation, growth and further tightening push investors to be cautious, adding that the volatility in world stock markets continues.
Analysts stated that in addition to the news flow from the Davos Summit, the meeting minutes of the US Federal Reserve (Fed) Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC), the European Central Bank President Christine Lagarde and the Bank of Japan (BoJ) President Haruhiko Kuroda’s statements are at the center of the markets. They said that tomorrow the data agenda is calm in the country, growth in Germany and durable goods orders in the USA will come to the fore abroad.
