Thrace provinces have achieved a significant milestone, surpassing $2 billion in foreign sales with a remarkable 133% increase over the past 11 years.
Thrace, endowed with strategic land, sea, and railway transportation facilities, along with border gates opening to Europe, is steadily expanding its share in exports.
From $905.7 million in 2013, the region’s exports soared to $2.11 billion in 2023, and are projected to reach $2.5 billion by year-end.
Thrace’s logistical advantages and proximity to the Istanbul market have attracted increased investments, particularly in the organized industrial zones of Tekirdag, Kirklareli, and Edirne.
Tekirdag emerged as the leading exporter among the three provinces in the region, followed by Kirklareli and Edirne.
According to the Turkish Exporters Assembly data, exports from the region surpassed $1 billion in 2014, steadily climbing to $2.11 billion last year.
In the January-April period of this year, exports reached $707.96 million, compared to $694.01 million during the same period last year, showcasing sustained growth in Thrace’s export sector.
