THY became a member of the IATA Airline Retail Consortium

Turkish Airlines (THY) has become a member of the IATA Airline Retailing Consortium, which is led by the International Air Transport Association (IATA) and includes the airlines that lead the sector.

According to the statement made by the THY Press Office, the IATA Airline Retail Consortium, which was established a while ago to carry out new activities that will fundamentally change the digital experience of passengers in the aviation industry, aims to implement important initiatives that will enable the digital travel experience of the future.

The consortium aims to provide passengers with all airline and non-airline products and services designed in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and personalized for their travel purposes, through a single record. The consortium plans to achieve these goals by establishing appropriate infrastructure and processes that are matured with joint working groups.

“We are confident that we will add a different direction to our success with this cooperation”

THY Chairman of the Board and the Executive Committee, Ahmet Bolat, whose views are included in the statement, emphasized his pleasure for Turkish Airlines to become a member of the consortium and said, “As the flag carrier airline, we continue our work with the main focus of digital transformation with the aim of increasing cooperation with companies operating in the travel sector and providing better service to our passengers. “With our participation in IATA’s Airline Retail Consortium, we will continue to play a leading role in aviation and present the vision of the future as always. We are confident that we will add a different direction to our success with this collaboration.”

THY offers its passengers the digital experience of the future

With the Order & Offer Management model, which aims to provide passengers with a more holistic and personalized service, THY will be able to offer its guests personalized offers at the right time and through the right sales channels, according to changing passenger needs and market conditions.

The content of these offers will consist of dynamic campaigns and combinations of packaged services including additional services. Thus, THY will be able to offer its guests more qualified products tailored to their needs, as well as offering an improved end-to-end customer experience.

In addition to being a member of the IATA Airline Retail Consortium, THY also takes part in the IATA Digital Transformation Advisory Council, where the transformation standards of the sector and aviation industry data are followed.

With the initiative of IATA, the flag carrier aims to create significant added value by taking part in the exchange of ideas and joint solutions with various airlines in order to contribute to the future vision of the aviation industry.
