THY carried 10.9 million passengers in the first 2 months

The number of passengers carried by Turkish Airlines (THY) increased by 38% in the first 2 months compared to the same period of the previous year, reaching 10.9 million.

THY announced the air traffic results for February on the Public Disclosure Platform (KAP).

Accordingly, the number of passengers carried in February increased by 22.5% to 4.9 million. While the number of international-to-international transfer passengers increased by 69.7% to 2.1 million, the passenger load factor was 81.3%.

In the said period, the occupancy rate abroad was 81.3%, while the domestic occupancy rate was recorded as 80.5%. Total Seats Supplied Km (AKK) increased by 28% to 15.4 billion. Cargo-mail carried decreased by 14.7% to 101.8 thousand tons.

Based on the January-February period, the total number of passengers increased by 38% from 7.9 million to 10.9 million.

While the number of international-to-international transfer passengers increased by 71.5% to 4.3 million, the passenger load factor was 80.9%. International passenger load factor was 80.9% and domestic load factor was 81.6%.

While Total Km of Seats Supplied increased by 33.7% to 33.5 billion, the cargo-mail transported decreased by 7.9% to 220.8 thousand tons. In February, the number of aircraft in the fleet reached 400.

430 thousand citizens were evacuated

In the statement, it is stated that free passenger and cargo transports carried out on February 6-28 due to the earthquakes in Kahramanmaras are not included in the data. “In the relevant period, 433 thousand of our citizens and search-rescue and aid teams were brought to the region, 430 thousand of our citizens were evacuated and 16 thousand tons of aid materials were sent to disaster areas.”
