ANKARA, June 11, 2026 — Türkiye’s General Directorate of Agricultural Enterprises (TİGEM) will put 60 purebred Arabian race foals up for sale through a public auction as part of its ongoing efforts to support the country’s horse-breeding and racing industry.
The auction will feature young Arabian racehorses bred at TİGEM’s state-run breeding facilities, which have long been recognized as a major source of high-quality racehorses for Türkiye’s equestrian sector. The sale is expected to attract horse owners, breeders, investors, and racing enthusiasts from across the country.
According to TİGEM, the auction will be conducted through an open-bidding process, allowing buyers to compete for foals with strong bloodlines and racing potential. The organization has historically generated significant revenue from the sale of purebred Arabian horses, many of which have gone on to achieve success on Turkish racetracks.
TİGEM operates major horse-breeding centers in Karacabey, Sultansuyu, and Anadolu agricultural enterprises, producing hundreds of foals annually. The institution plays a central role in preserving and developing Türkiye’s purebred Arabian horse lineage and is regarded as one of the country’s leading breeders.
The upcoming sale follows a series of successful auctions in recent years. TİGEM has increasingly expanded both physical and online auction formats, reflecting strong demand for high-quality Arabian racehorses among domestic and international buyers.
Recent tender announcements indicate that the organization continues to hold large-scale hybrid auctions combining in-person and online participation, helping broaden access for potential buyers and increase competition during bidding.
Industry participants view the auction as an important event for Türkiye’s horse-racing sector, offering investors an opportunity to acquire promising young horses while contributing to the continued development of the nation’s renowned Arabian horse breeding tradition.
