ISTANBUL — Belgium-based cement producer Titan SA has officially completed the acquisition of 100% of the shares of Traçim Çimento in a deal valued at $190 million, significantly expanding its production capacity and positioning Türkiye as one of its key operational hubs.
According to a statement from Titan, the acquisition adds an integrated cement facility with an annual production capacity of 2.5 million tons to the company’s global portfolio. The facility is expected to play a critical role in export operations to the United States and neighboring countries.
Potential to Become Titan’s Largest Production Hub
The newly acquired Traçim facility has significant room for expansion. The site already holds the necessary permits to build a second integrated production line, which could increase capacity by an additional 2.5 million tons per year.
If the expansion is realized, the plant could become the largest cement production facility within Titan’s global network.
Solar Energy Investment Planned
Alongside the acquisition, Titan also announced a joint venture with Caba Enerji to develop a 100-megawatt solar power project. Titan will hold a 50% stake in the project and plans to invest €34 million as part of its strategy to reduce energy costs and support sustainability goals.
2027 Financial Targets
Titan expects the acquisition to deliver strong financial results by 2027. The company projects that Traçim will contribute more than €120 million in annual sales revenue and over €50 million in EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization) to the group by that time.
The deal marks a significant step in Titan’s strategy to expand its international footprint while strengthening its presence in Türkiye as a regional production and export base.
