TMO Selects Most Competitive Offers in 225,000-Ton Barley Import Tender

The Turkish Grain Board (TMO) has concluded its international tender for the import of 225,000 tons of feed barley, launched in response to declining domestic yields due to drought. The most competitive offers have been identified, and the results are currently pending approval by TMO officials.

The tender covers deliveries scheduled between August 8 and 29. All bids were submitted on a CFR (Cost and Freight) basis, meaning prices include shipping costs, with deliveries to be made to specified Turkish ports.

According to sources familiar with the matter, the best offers by port are as follows:

İskenderun Port

  • Danem: 30,000 tons at $234.90/ton
  • Team: 10,000 tons at $236.00/ton
  • Bunge: 35,000 tons at $239.00/ton

Mersin Port

  • Cemile: 25,000 tons at $236.90/ton

İzmir Port

  • Yayla: 30,000 tons at $236.50/ton
  • Erkan Agro: 20,000 tons at $236.70/ton

Bandırma Port

  • GFT Agro: 5,000 tons at $231.90/ton(Lowest offer)
  • Üçel: 5,000 tons at $233.90/ton
  • Yayla: 5,000 tons at $234.70/ton
  • Erkan Agro: 10,000 tons at $237.80/ton

Tekirdağ Port

  • Raya: 25,000 tons at $233.80/ton

Samsun Port

  • Bek Tarım: 10,000 tons at $237.20/ton
  • Bek Tarım: 5,000 tons at $237.20/ton

Trabzon Port

  • Sibirya Tarım: 10,000 tons at $238.70/ton

Overview

The selected offers range between $231.90 and $239.00 per ton, with GFT Agro’s bid for Bandırma Port emerging as the most competitive at $231.90 per ton. A variety of local and international companies participated in the tender, with quantities allocated according to port distribution.

The final approval of the tender results is expected from TMO in the coming days.
