TOBB Provides ₺30 Billion in Nefes Loans to Over 23,500 Companies

The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) announced that, under the Nefes Loan program, approximately ₺30 billion in financing was extended to 23,515 companies in just one month.

In its statement, TOBB recalled that the initiative was launched in July to ease small and medium-sized enterprises’ (SMEs) access to financing. The loans were granted through the Credit Guarantee Fund’s equity surety in cooperation with eight banks. TOBB noted that the program quickly reached its designated credit limit, concluding the application process.

Emphasizing the vital importance of SMEs having access to affordable financing to sustain production and trade, TOBB said:

“We are pleased to see that the business community’s demand for the Nefes Loan has not gone unanswered. We extend our thanks to Treasury and Finance Minister Mehmet Şimşek and Central Bank Governor Fatih Karahan for their supportive and constructive approach in implementing this program. Due to the high demand, we have conveyed our request to increase the loan amount to the relevant authorities. If approved, the additional limit will be made available to our SMEs without delay. Timely and affordable access to financing means more investment, production, employment, and exports — ultimately leading to a stronger economy.”
