Türkiye Petrolleri Anonim Ortaklığı (TPAO) has applied to extend the oil exploration license periods for certain fields located in Batman and Siirt by an additional two years.
The announcement regarding the application by the General Directorate of Mining and Petroleum Affairs (MAPEG) under the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources was published in Türkiye’s Official Gazette.
According to the announcement, TPAO submitted its application to MAPEG on August 20 to extend the exploration licenses for certain fields it holds within the borders of Batman and Siirt for another two years.
The extension request concerns TPAO’s ongoing exploration activities in the two southeastern provinces, which are among Türkiye’s established oil-producing regions.
The application will now be evaluated by the relevant authorities in accordance with Türkiye’s petroleum legislation.
