Türkiye Sınai Kalkınma Bankası (TSKB) has signed a $350 million loan agreement with the Japan Bank for International Cooperation, strengthening its long-standing partnership with the Japanese development finance institution and expanding funding available for sustainable investments in Türkiye.
According to the agreement, the financing will be directed toward projects that support sustainable development, green transformation, climate resilience, renewable energy, energy efficiency, and other investments that contribute to Türkiye’s long-term economic growth objectives. The transaction reflects continued international confidence in Türkiye’s development banking sector and in TSKB’s role as a key provider of sustainable finance.
The new facility builds on previous cooperation between TSKB and JBIC. In recent years, the two institutions have worked together on financing programs aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions, supporting renewable energy projects, and encouraging the adoption of advanced environmental technologies across Türkiye.
TSKB stated that the new funding will help mobilize additional resources for private-sector investments while supporting the country’s transition toward a low-carbon and more resilient economy. The bank has increasingly relied on partnerships with international development finance institutions to channel long-term funding into strategic sectors, including climate adaptation, energy transition, and sustainable infrastructure.
The agreement highlights growing economic and financial cooperation between Türkiye and Japan and underscores the importance of international financing in supporting sustainable development projects during a period of global economic and environmental challenges.
