Türkiye is preparing for a major change in vehicle inspection services, with a new system set to come into operation in 2027 under TURKA, the company established by the consortium that won the tender for the country’s second 20-year vehicle inspection concession.
Automotive journalist and content creator Doğan Kabak recently tested the next-generation inspection process using a BMW M5 CS, documenting the procedure on video and offering an early look at how vehicle inspections are expected to change.
New Era to Begin in 2027
The new vehicle inspection period will cover 2027-2047. The Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure announced that contracts for the new system were signed on July 30, 2026, following the tender won by the MOI Joint Venture Group. TURKA was subsequently established to operate the inspection services.
The new system will involve more than simply changing the operator. Plans include increasing the number of inspection stations, strengthening technological infrastructure and introducing new applications focused on improving the experience for vehicle owners.
BMW M5 CS Put Through the New System
Kabak took BMW’s high-performance M5 CS to the new-generation inspection facility and recorded the process step by step.
The test provides an early glimpse into a system that will eventually be used by millions of vehicle owners across Türkiye. While the BMW M5 CS was the vehicle featured in the test, the broader focus is on how vehicle inspections will be conducted during the new 20-year concession period.
The transition marks the beginning of a new chapter in a vehicle inspection system that Türkiye has been accustomed to for nearly two decades.
