Turkcell signed an agreement with Samsung Electronics during Mobile World Congress 2026 held in Barcelona, Spain. Under the agreement, a total of 650,000 5G-compatible Samsung smartphones will be offered to consumers through Turkcell sales channels.
As part of the deal, 150,000 additional Samsung 5G-enabled smartphones will be made available under advantageous conditions via Turkcell channels.
The agreement, which further strengthens the ongoing collaboration between the two companies, includes 100,000 locally manufactured Galaxy A series devices and 50,000 premium-segment Galaxy S series models aimed at high-end customers.
“With 32 Years of Leadership Experience, We Will Lead Turkey’s 5G Transformation”
Highlighting that Turkey is counting down to its transition to 5G, Turkcell CEO Dr. Ali Taha Koç stated:
“As of April 1, we will deliver the 5G experience powered by Turkcell in all 81 provinces. With 32 years of leadership experience, we will spearhead our country’s 5G transformation. In this process, access to 5G-compatible devices is just as important as infrastructure investments. Currently, the rate of 5G-compatible phones in Turkey stands at around 30%. Our goal is to significantly increase this rate and expand 5G accessibility.
Last year, we took an important step with our agreement with Samsung for 100,000 Turkcell-exclusive, locally manufactured 5G-supported smart devices. This year, we are pleased to further expand our collaboration to include both smartphones and R&D initiatives.
With Samsung 5G-compatible devices positioned across different segments, we are moving forward with a vision of reaching a total of 650,000 units. This includes 100,000 Turkcell-exclusive Galaxy A series 5G devices produced locally, as well as 50,000 premium Galaxy S series devices. Through this strategic partnership, we aim to both expand 5G access to wider audiences and strengthen momentum in the premium segment.”
“100,000 Locally Manufactured Devices Demonstrate Our Support for the Domestic Ecosystem”
Dr. Koç emphasized that 100,000 of the 150,000 5G devices included in the new agreement will be locally manufactured, underscoring Turkcell’s support for the domestic technology ecosystem.
“With our strong infrastructure, reliable connectivity, wide coverage, and advanced technology, we are ready for 5G. We are counting down the days to deliver the 5G experience powered by Turkcell to everyone,” he said.
“Starting April 1, We Launch Nationwide with Turkcell Power”
Samsung Türkiye President and CEO Billy Kim highlighted that the completion of the 5G transformation will further enhance the benefits of mobile artificial intelligence.
“The world is undergoing a major technological transformation. Artificial intelligence is fundamentally changing how we work and live, and with the widespread adoption of 5G technology, there are virtually no limits to the conveniences AI can bring to our lives. We are delighted to collaborate with Turkcell to introduce our most advanced, secure, and powerful device to date, the Galaxy S26, to more users, and to make 5G technology accessible to everyone through Samsung devices suitable for every budget, including the Galaxy A series 5G models that we will produce exclusively for Turkcell in Turkey.”
