Turkcell’s third-quarter 2021 net profit reached ₺1.4 billion

Turkcell reached the highest quarterly customer acquisition in the last 14 years with 1.2 million in the third quarter. In addition, a quarterly profit record was broken with ₺1.4 billion.

Turkcell Group, on a consolidated basis, increased its total revenues to ₺9.4 billion, an increase of 22.3% compared to the third quarter of last year. Turkcell’s third-quarter 2021 net profit increased by 18% to reach ₺1.4 billion, reaching the highest quarterly level of all time.


Taking into account its performance in the last quarter, Turkcell once again updated its year targets upwards. The company also increased its 2021 revenue growth forecast to 20% and its EBITDA expectation to approximately ₺14.5 billion. Continuing its customer-focused approach in the third quarter of 2021, Turkcell achieved the highest quarterly net customer acquisition in the last 14 years with 1.2 million customer acquisitions in this period. In the first 9 months of the year, it gained 2.5 million new customers.

The number of active users in Paycell reached 6 million in three months. The volume of transactions made via Paycell Card, on the other hand, increased six times compared to the same period of the previous year. Turkcell hired J.P. for the management of the share sale process at Paycell. Authorization agreement signed with Morgan Securities. Offering uninterrupted communication with its technology and strong infrastructure, the number of active users of BiP tripled compared to the same period of the previous year and reached 27.2 million.


Turkcell General Manager Murat Erkan stated that they continue to be the choice of existing and new customers thanks to their rich product portfolio that touches life in many areas and their approach focused on superior service quality. Erkan stated that Paycell, which has attracted the attention of investors, has entered a new process in order to carry the benefit it creates and the value it represents to higher levels, and said, “We have started a new phase that will shape the future journey of Paycell.”


Stating that it is important for Turkey to have a fiber infrastructure that can meet the needs of digital transformation, Erkan said: “Fiber infrastructure is also of great importance in terms of preparing for 5G and offering the basic benefits of 5G in the best way possible. We support the creation of a 5G solution ecosystem in Turkey. We also find the approach that puts investment at the center during the transition to 5G, and that will allow competition to be realized in the superstructure and through value propositions, very constructive and positive.”
