Turkey: $9.9 billion export from the hardware industry in 11 months

While the export of the hardware industry reached $10 billion in 11 months, it increased by 34% compared to the same period of the previous year.

Hardware Manufacturers and Businessmen Association (HISIAD) shared the export figures of the sector for the period of January-November.

Looking at the cumulative data of January-November 2021, Turkey’s exports were calculated as $203.1 billion, while the sector’s exports were $9.9 billion in the same period. The sector achieved an increase of 30% compared to the previous year with an export of $1 billion in November.

HISIAD President Cetin Tecdelioglu, whose views were included in the statement, stated that the sector’s exports reached $9.9 billion in 11 months of the year, with an increase of 34% in value. “In November, among the countries to which our industry exports the most, Germany ranked first with $100 million, Iraq was in the second place with $70 million, and the USA was in the third place with $55 million. Our exports to Belgium, which ranks fourth, in the hardware sector, increased by 247% in November 2021 compared to the previous year and amounted to $40 million.”

Evaluating the export markets in January-November 2021, Tecdelioglu said, “In this period, Germany ranked first with $1 billion, Iraq was in the second place with $613 million, and the USA was in the third place with $394 million. After the STA, exports to the UK increased by 33% in value and 43% in quantity. As a sector, we maintain our upward momentum in exports. Our goal is to close the year with the highest export figures.”
