ANKARA — April 6, 2026
Türkiye has announced a €35 million grant support package for 155 Local Action Groups under the IPARD III Program, aimed at boosting rural development across the country.
Speaking at the IPARD III LEADER Approach event in Ankara, Minister of Agriculture and Forestry İbrahim Yumaklı said the funding reflects strong confidence in local initiatives and a commitment to strengthening rural economies.
“This support package is the most concrete indication of our trust in local dynamics and our dedication to rural development,” Yumaklı stated.
The initiative is designed not only to provide financial assistance but also to activate the economic and social potential of villages and small towns across Anatolia, encouraging participation from local communities, entrepreneurs, women, and young people.
Nationwide Expansion of Rural Development
Officials highlighted that the IPARD program, which previously operated in 42 provinces during its earlier phases, has now been expanded to all 81 provinces under IPARD III.
Authorities emphasized that the program goes beyond agricultural production, aiming to strengthen economic growth, social cohesion, cultural preservation, and environmental sustainability in rural areas.
Broader Investment Plans
The government also revealed that under the broader IPARD III framework, a total of €241 million in support is planned for 2026, including investments in infrastructure and private sector development.
In addition, Turkey plans to allocate a record ₺938 billion agricultural support budget in 2026, covering irrigation, subsidies, and financing mechanisms.
Focus on Inclusive Growth
The program places particular emphasis on supporting women and young entrepreneurs, as well as fostering cooperation between public institutions, private sector actors, and civil society through the LEADER approach.
Authorities say the initiative will help create jobs, increase value-added production, and promote sustainable development in rural regions across Türkiye.
