Turkey: €780 million support for 88 projects with Competitive Sectors Program

The beneficiaries of the projects supported within the framework of the Competitive Sectors Programme, which aims to increase Turkey’s competitiveness in the domestic and foreign markets, came together in Istanbul. The beneficiaries of 22 projects within the scope of the Competitive Sectors Program carried out with the co-financing of the European Union and the Ministry of Industry and Technology met at the meeting attended by the Minister of Industry and Technology Mustafa Varank. Minister Varank said, “We have provided €780 million in support to 88 projects so far. These projects have played an important role in the harmonization of our country with EU legislation and standards, as well as the economic contribution they have created.” Stating that they implemented 46 projects with a budget of €520 million in 43 cities from Hatay to Rize, from Van to Kastamonu in the first period of the IPA program, Varank said, “We supported 42 projects with a budget of €260 million in the second period.”
