Housing Price Index increased by 6.9% in January

The Housing Price Index stood at 708.3 in January, up 6.9% month on month and 153.1% year on year.

The Housing Price Index data for the period of January 2023 has been announced by the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkiye (CBRT).

The KPI (2017=100), calculated to monitor the quality-adjusted price changes of residences in Turkiye, increased by 6.9% in January compared to the previous month and amounted to 708.3.

While the KPI increased by 153.1% on an annual basis in January, the real increase in this period was 59.1%.

Looking at the change in KPI for the three big cities, an increase of 6.0% and 5.8% was seen in Istanbul, Ankara and Izmir, respectively, in January compared to the previous month. Index values increased by 154.4% in Istanbul, 156.8% in Ankara and 149.9% in Izmir compared to the same month of the previous year.
