TUMSIAD: 2022 will be more positive economically for Turkey

Yasar Dogan, Chairman of the All Industrialists’ and Businessmen’s Association (TUMSIAD), said, “We expect 2022 to be more positive economically for our country, which makes good use of the developing opportunities. We consider that the growth trend will continue steadily, retail exports will increase especially with the opportunities offered by e-export, and our total exports will again reach a record level with the stability in the exchange rates. In addition he said, “We hope that in 2022, the purchasing power of the society will increase, the welfare level of the society will increase, production, employment and exports will develop by putting the trade ethics to the fore.”

TUMSIAD Chairman Dogan stated that they expect 2022 to be more positive in economic terms for Turkey, which makes good use of the developing opportunities, “We consider that the growth trend will continue steadily, retail exports will increase especially with the opportunities offered by e-exports, and our total exports will again reach a record level with the stability in the exchange rates.”

In a statement to AA correspondent, Yasar Dogan stated that the world is going through a troubled period in economic and social terms, which started before the pandemic, increased its impact by intensifying especially last year, and continued this year as well.

Stating that the breaks in every link of the supply chain, the increase in logistics costs, the problems in the supply of raw materials and their canalization into production affect the industrial production negatively, Dogan said that Turkey has become a positively differentiated position in the world with the measures taken by the state and the active policies it produces.

Noting that the industrial production index indicators were particularly promising this year, Dogan said, “When both the growth figures, export figures and industrial production data are evaluated together, the industrial production of our country has shown a positive increase with the normalization of the pandemic conditions.”

Pointing out that the next year will be challenging globally based on the existing indicators, Dogan said:

“We expect 2022 to be more positive in economic terms for our country, which makes good use of the developing opportunities. We consider that the growth trend will continue steadily, retail exports will increase especially with the opportunities offered by e-exports, and our total exports will again reach a record level with the stability in the exchange rates. When we evaluate it in terms of the agricultural sector, we see that a stable level has been reached where the prices in the European markets are settled. In the agricultural sector of our country, a stable structure in which prices are settled has begun to be reached.”

Dogan stated that 2022 will be more positive in terms of agricultural economy, especially if the excessive fluctuations in exchange rates are taken under control and this is continued in the next year. “In summary, we hope that in 2022, the purchasing power of the society will increase, the level of welfare will increase, and production, employment and exports will develop, by putting the trade ethics at the forefront.”

“WE EXPECT INDUSTRIAL PRODUCTION TO BE REALIZED OVER 10% ANNUALLY, ADJUSTED WITH THE CALENDAR EFFECT”

Yasar Dogan said that the positive industrial production index during the year strengthened his expectations in terms of both the end of 2021 industrial production index and the 2022 industrial production index.

Pointing out that the high share of manufacturing industry production in the general industrial production index compared to other parameters is also important, Dogan said, “In the light of these indicators, we expect the calendar adjusted industrial production to be over 10% annually.”

Dogan stated that when evaluated as a whole, Turkey and the world have experienced economic problems that are difficult to find solutions with the usual methods. “In this environment, the necessary arrangements are made by our government in order for our business world to remain competitive, increase its production, increase its employment potential and make moves that will bring its exports to new records. We expect the business world to continue to produce with an approach that prioritizes the commercial moral principles we inherited from our ancient civilization, and to support national production and development with the principle of trust in our state.”
