Turkey is a favorite destination for Ukrainian tourists

Last year, during the new type of coronavirus epidemic, 560 thousand of approximately 750 thousand Ukrainian tourists who went abroad for touristic purposes made their holiday in Turkey.

Offering a “safe and healthy” holiday opportunity during the new type of coronavirus (Covid-19), Turkey has become the first choice of Ukrainian tourists.

According to the report prepared by the Mediterranean Touristic Hoteliers and Operators Association (AKTOB), Turkey ranked first in Ukraine, where 750 thousand people went on holiday abroad during the epidemic period.

In Ukraine, where 2.5 million people went on holiday abroad in 2019, where records were experienced in tourism, 750 thousand people traveled for touristic purposes last year.

Tourists’ vacation route was Antalya

560 thousand of 750 thousand people who traveled during the epidemic period came to Turkey; Almost all of these tourists chose Antalya for their holidays. Providing safe and healthy holiday services in line with the criteria of the Safe Tourism Certificate Program, the city has also become an indispensable holiday center for Ukrainians.

It is reported that Ukrainians have also started reservations for 2021.

“We expect more tourists this year”

AKTOB President Erkan Yagci told Anadolu Agency (AA) that Ukrainian tourists started to come to the city as of July 1.

Explaining that the dynamism in Ukrainian traffic increased even more in August, September, and October, Yagci stated that the Ukrainians who went abroad for a holiday turned their route to Antalya.

Emphasizing that 2 out of every 3 Ukrainian tourists have a holiday in Antalya, Yagci said, “We have provided a safe service by taking our precautions during the epidemic process. We are ready to host our guests within the scope of the same measures this year.”

Stating that Ukraine is an important market after Russia, Yagci said that they expect more Ukrainian tourists this year.
