Turkey is the fourth country in wind energy installation in Europe

Turkey ranked fourth with a capacity of 1.4 gigawatts in the list of countries with the highest wind energy installations in Europe last year.
According to the “2021 European Wind Energy Statistics and 2022-2026 Outlook” report prepared by WindEurope, by the end of 2021, Europe has reached 236 gigawatts of installed wind power.

Last year, 17 gigawatts of new capacity were installed in Europe, and 11 gigawatts of this installation were made up of 27 member states of the European Union (EU). On the other hand, onshore wind capacity constituted 81% of the installations in question.

According to the report, the UK has the most wind power installations last year, with 2.64 gigawatts. During this period, 328 megawatts of onshore wind farms and 2.31 gigawatts of offshore wind farms were installed in the UK.

The UK was followed by Sweden with 2.10 gigawatt installations and Germany with 1.92 gigawatt installations.

Turkey, on the other hand, ranked fourth after the United Kingdom, Sweden and Germany, with 1.4 gigawatts of wind energy installed in 2021.
