Turkey-Italy trade volume is expected to exceed $20 billion by the end of the year

Livio Manzini, President of the Italian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said that the foreign trade volume between Turkey and Italy will exceed $20 billion by the end of 2021.

The Investor Awards in Bilateral Commercial Relations, organized for the second time this year by the Italian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Association, found their owners at the ceremony.

Making a statement at the event, President of the Italian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Association Manzini said that they wanted to thank some of the people who came to the fore this year in international relations, and by citing them as an example, to increase the interest from Italy to Turkey and to appeal to more investors.

Noting that they also aim to increase the interest of Turkish companies in Italy, Manzini said:

“In this respect, it is a very important award ceremony. We are living in an extraordinary period in many respects. We are living a record year in terms of bilateral trade. We will exceed $20 billion in total trade between Italy and Turkey by the end of the year. The data we have shows that we have had the highest year. This shows a very balanced trade and how intertwined and deep the relations between Italian-Turkish companies are.”

“Chambers of Commerce are doing important work”

Massimo Gaiani, the Italian Ambassador to Ankara, thanked the organizers of the event and said, “I think they have done great work as a network of chambers of commerce and they have accomplished very important things in order to increase the relations between Italy and Turkey.”

Gaiani said, “It was a collaborative effort, but I think you deserve the award. Thanks to the efforts of the businessmen of the city and the country, our relations are so strong. You are the actor here. We can only guide you in your success and I hope that your success will continue.”

Three companies were awarded

At the event, the Investor Awards in Bilateral Commercial Relations found their owners.

Yusuf Senel, Chairman of the Board of Directors, received an award on behalf of Naturel Energy Group/Margun Energy Production Industry and Trade Inc., whose award could not be delivered in 2020 due to the epidemic, for his contributions to Turkish-Italian commercial relations.

This year’s award was given to Gentass Decorative Surfaces Industry and Trade Inc.

The other company that was deemed worthy of the award for this year was Pininfarina S.p.A., the industrial design firm that designed the two SUV prototypes introduced by TOGG in 2019 and the air control tower of Istanbul Airport.
