Season gets longer at ‘ski center of the Mediterranean’ Yedikuyular

The extension of the season until mid-April was welcomed at Yedikuyular Ski Center in Kahramanmaras, which is the address of ski lovers with its proximity to the Mediterranean and Southeastern Anatolia regions.

The snow depth in the Yedikuyular region, 13 kilometers away from the city center at an altitude of 2,300 altitudes, reached approximately 1 meter after the snowfall in the last days of March.

The center, where the ski season ended in mid-March due to insufficient snowfall and heat in the past years, welcomes visitors in April this year.

The facility, which hosts many ski lovers from Gaziantep, Sanliurfa, Adana, Adiyaman, Hatay, Malatya, Kilis and Mersin, fascinates its visitors with its 7-kilometer track, natural beauties and different activities.

Yedikuyular Ski Center Manager Mustafa Orak told Anadolu Agency (AA) that the ski center is an attraction area for the people of the region with its easy transportation and different activities.

Stating that Yedikuyular has become a brand in the region, Orak said:

“Especially last week, our ski center benefited from the rainfall throughout our country very well. We currently have 70-80 centimeters of snow thickness. This will allow us to continue the season for about 15-20 days. Some ski resorts in Turkey have completed the season, but we are still operating. This offers a good advantage for our city and our region.”

Explaining that he got full marks from his visitors with the length of the tracks in the facilities and the quality of snow, Orak stated that they serve citizens within the framework of Covid-19 measures.

Stating that the quality of the snow is still good, Orak said, “We receive visitors from all the provinces that neighbors of Kahramanmaras. Yedikuyular Ski Center, when we consider the situation of the surrounding provinces, is in question to appeal to about 20 million people.”
